• Advice for bug reporters boils down to this:

• a bug is a relationship between you and the developer. Communicate as clearly and as effectively as possible, like any good relationship.

• Work with them. If the initial report isn't good enough, don't bitch and moan*- fix it, whether by information (more details) or persuasion (WHY, WHY, WHY again.)

• *that's my job; I'm territorial :)
