BirthOfVenus - March 28, 1999 This theme was created using theme.handler-0.4.2, and should be installed by using installastheme.pl from the same package. It is available from 1.6.0 of AfterStep in the /AfterStep-1.6.0/tools/ or from ftp.afterstep.org/themes/. The background is Sandro Botticelli's "Birth of Venus". My pager is set in the database is: Style "*Pager" NoTitle, Sticky, StaysOnTop, WindowListSkip, NoHandles The apps in the Wharf are (starting just below the penguin in the screenshot) wmmon, wmmon, asclock, wminet, wmifs, and ascd just above the Netscape icon. The apps in the screenshot are: 1) upper left : kicq 2) upper middle: tkirc a Tk graphical frontend to ircii 3) right side : aterm ( -sr -tr -sh 50 -bg black -fg white -fn "-*-helvetica-*-r-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" ) 4) lower left : Netscape Navigator 4.51 Additional fun below :) (the tan/brown colored apps in the screenshot) : You may notice that Netscape, tkirc, and kicq are following the same color scheme. This, unfortunately requires KDE. If you have KDE and you want to get the same effect, you need to add a color scheme file to your ~/.kde/share/apps/kdisplay/color-schemes/ directory. Call it browish_gold.kcsrc Below are the contents of this file: # KDE Config File [Color Scheme] foreground=72,40,32 selectForeground=255,255,255 activeBlend=224,133,73 selectBackground=72,40,32 inactiveBackground=214,183,145 name=browish_gold_2 contrast=10 background=168,148,120 activeBackground=169,86,56 inactiveBlend=214,183,145 inactiveForeground=97,95,68 activeForeground=243,243,170 windowForeground=72,40,32 windowBackground=168,148,120 Now run kcmdisplay or go into KDE and rightclick->display properties Go to the colors menu and select browish_gold_2. Now go to the Style menu and check the box "Apply fonts and color to non-KDE apps". Apply the changes, click OK, and you're set. (Sometimes you have to keep hitting "Apply" for it to work) Anyway, now when you start Tk, Qt, and some other apps like Netscape, they should have the color scheme that you just added to KDE, even in AfterStep. Enjoy! IRC EFnet AUTOFLUSH (b-coons@uiuc.edu) NOTE: This theme is not my original creation, but I liked it so much I had to convert it from the original WindowMaker theme to AfterStep. Below is the original README for the WindowMaker version of this theme so that I may give credit where credit is due. ---------------------------------------------------------- Theme Name: Birth of Venus Author: Karellen (karellen@cryogen.com) Description: Sandro Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" (detail) I used Tile_Nov12.jpg at themes.org and the grand master's work of art. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------- Please do not bother this person about the AfterStep theme as he or she probably knows nothing about it.
